Do you want a richer, more meaningful life?
Do you simply appreciate good stories and gentle reminders to be more grateful for the life you already have?
You, friend, are welcome here.
At Like the Dewfall, I look for spots in my days where Grace and Love make themselves present to me, and I encourage you to do the same.
In October 2014, my stepsister Claudia passed from complications after childbirth, and I felt a ‘holy nudge’ to begin this blog. You can read about my experience here: Claudia’s Day. Weeks of wondering what would happen to her made me bolder about sharing my writing and my faith with audiences, and showed me that we all need encouragement and support as we walk through life.
My blog reflects my daily journey, which I have come to understand as a meandering walk with God that began long before I was even willing to acknowledge His presence.
If you aren’t comfortable with the concept of God yet, that’s ok. There’s still a place for you here. Goodness, love, and decency are what appeal most to me and I write most often about these things shining through all of us – believers and non-believers alike.
In many ways, my writing is a natural outgrowth of my education and professional experience. I graduated from Dickinson College with a B.A. in English and French in 1994. In 2004, I also earned a graduate certificate in professional writing and editing from George Mason University. I’ve held several nonfiction writing and editing positions at various institutions over the years.
Currently, it’s my privilege to be home with my kids, and long before I posted my first blog piece, I found inspiration in the experience of motherhood.
For the last four years, I’ve been a group leader in a Catholic women’s Bible study, an experience that has enriched my faith immeasurably. In drawing closer to Christ, I’ve found joy and peace I hadn’t known was possible. It’s a pleasure to share my journey with you. Thank you for reading.
Peace be with you.
