But in October 2014, when my stepsister Claudia passed from complications after childbirth, I felt a ‘holy nudge’ to begin this blog. You can read about it here: Claudia’s Day
My blog reflects my faith journey, which I have come to understand as a long, meandering walk with God. A walk that began long before I was even willing to acknowledge His presence in my life.
In many ways, my writing is a natural outgrowth of my education and professional experience. I graduated from Dickinson College with a B.A. in English and French in 1994. In 2004, I also earned a graduate certificate in professional writing and editing from George Mason University. I’ve held several nonfiction writing and editing positions at various institutions over the years.
Currently, it’s my privilege to be home with my kids, and long before I posted my first blog piece, I found inspiration in the experience of motherhood.
For the last four years, I’ve been a group leader in a Catholic women’s Bible study, an experience that has enriched my faith immeasurably. In drawing closer to Christ, I’ve found joy and peace I hadn’t known was possible.
It’s a pleasure to share my journey with you, and to encourage you to look for God’s presence and love in your own life too.
